Panhellenic Council selects outstanding faculty member of year

Members of the University's Panhellenic Council presented a plaque of
recognition to Kenneth Lomax, associate professor of agricultural
engineering, at a ceremony Nov. 30 in the Perkins Student Center, where he
was recognized as 1993 Panhellenic Council Faculty Member of the Year.
The nomination process and ceremony were conducted to recognize
faculty members for their service to sorority and/or fraternity chapters,
other student organizations and the campus community.
A five-member selection committee reviewed nominations of 29 members
of the University faculty.
According to Cathy Ritter, community relations coordinator of the
Panhellenic Executive Board who was responsible for the new, annual awards
program, Lomax was selected "because of his strong sense of dedication and
concern for the students and the University as a whole."
He exemplified all the attributes of the award, Ritter added. His
efforts and involvement in the campus went well beyond the classroom.
