Teacher job fair
     A teacher job fair for students, experienced teachers and
administrators will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, at
the Carousel Hotel and Resort, located on 118th Street in Ocean City, Md.
     Representatives from 30 mid-Atlantic school districts will be
available to discuss job opportunities at this free, public event. No
registration is required.
     The fair is sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Association for School,
College and University Staffing, whose membership includes the University's
Office of Career Planning and Placement.

Newark arts fest
     "Downtown with the Arts Festival" will move indoors Nov. 19. The
Newark Arts Alliance festival will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a coffeehouse in
Treats Bakery Cafe. Artists and craftspeople will be featured in the United
Methodist Church at 69 East Main St. The evening will conclude at 10 p.m.
with a community sing/open mike session.

Sunday brunch
     The Blue and Gold Club will hold its November brunch from 10:30
a.m.-2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14. The brunch will celebrate Thanksgiving.  
Among the menu items are pasta aurora (shrimp and scallops over linguini),
beef tips with burgundy sauce, leg of lamb, turkey breast, stuffing, mashed
potatoes, flounder dijionnaise, eggs benedict, omelettes and waffles, bacon
and sausage, assorted bagels and pastries, desserts, juice, coffee, tea,
soda and a complimentary glass of sparkling white wine.
     Cost is $15.95 for adults, $7.95 for children ages 5 to 11 and free
for children under 5. Club membership is required and all University
employees are eligible. First-time members receive $10 off their first

Computer services
     The Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) service shop, which is located at
324 Wyoming Ave., is open from 8:30-9:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. To
make an appointment for service at other times, call 831-3773.

Holiday wreath sale
     The first-year Longwood graduate fellows will hold a holiday wreath,
garland and cyclamen sale to raise money for an internship in Costa Rica.
Pre-orders will be accepted until Nov. 18. The sale will be held from 9:30
a.m.-5:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, and from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Dec. 3, in
the Perkins Student Center concourse.

Traditional film
     The Shvitz, a witty, 50-minute documentary about America's last
traditional steambaths and the continuity of European Jewish culture, will
be shown at 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, in 205 Kirkbride Lecture Hall. The
director, Jonathan Berman, will be present for a discussion of the film.

Basketball to begin
     The men's basketball team's first exhibition game against
DePersia-Coraluzzo AAU will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16. The
second, against a team from Stuttgart, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov.
21.
     The women's exhibition game against the Russian team Dynamo-Red Army
will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 28.
     All games will be held in the Bob Carpenter Center.
