Workshops offered on teaching

     The Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE) will offer a workshop
entitled "Documenting Teaching: The Teaching Portfolio" from 12:15 to 1:30
p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, in the Collins Room of the Perkins Student Center.
     Leaders Judy Greene and Barbara Duch, both from CTE, will explain the
teaching portfolio, which provides a systematic way for college professors
to document and to improve their teaching strengths and achievements.
     A colloquium, "Developing TAs in the Disciplines," will be offered
from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the Collins Room of the Perkins
Student Center. There will be a general discussion on ways to work with
teaching assistants as an avenue to strenghthen undergraduate instruction
as well as to prepare professors of the future.
