Health profiles
     An appointment is not necessary for those interested in receiving an
instant health profile. Employees may drop in at any time, between 8
a.m.- 5 p.m., at the following locations:
     * Friday, Nov. 5, 103 McDowell Hall;
     * Monday, Nov. 8, Ewing Room, Perkins Student Center;
     * Tuesday, Nov. 9, 103 McDowell Hall; and
     * Thursday, Nov. 11, Ewing Room, Perkins Student Center.
     Screenings will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 12, at the Lewes campus,
from 10 a.m.-noon, and at the University's Georgetown location from 2-4 p.m.

Open house Tuesday
     Employee Services invites the University community to visit its new
office, located at 51 East Main St., the former WSFS Building. An open
house will be held from 3-4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, and refreshments will
be served.

Nutcracker & Santa
     The Delaware Dance Company will present the Nutcracker, at 8 p.m.,
Friday, Dec. 10; at 2 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11; and at 2 p.m., Sunday,
Dec. 12, at Dickinson High School.
     Tickets are $15 for orchestra and $12 for mezzanine seats. Lunch with
Santa and Nutcracker characters is available immediately prior to each
matinee performances for $3 per person.

UD staff luncheon
     The November University Staff Association luncheon will be held from
noon-1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, in Hartshorn Hall, located at the corner of
Academy Street and East Park Place. Featured will be actors in Professional
Theatre Training Program, who will present vignettes from some recent
performances, show what an audition is like and demonstrate how to set up
for a performance.
     Cost is $6.50 for a gourmet box lunch and $1.25 for those who prefer
to brown bag. To register, send completed registration forms and checks,
made payable to the University of Delaware, to Mary Hutton in Accounts
Payable. Checks should be sent no later than Nov. 8.

New club program
     The Performing Arts Series and the Blue and Gold Club have joined to
offer a series of evenings of food and entertainment. Before the live
performances, a four-course meal will be served at the club for $15.95.
Seating is from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
     When calling for dinner reservations, the club will be able to order
tickets, charge them to a member's club account and present them at dinner.
     Club membership is required and all University employees are eligible.
First-time members receive $10 off their first year's dues. For an

Holiday bazaar
     The Newark Senior Center will hold a holiday bazaar from 8 a.m.-6
p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, and from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at the
center, located at 300 East Main St.
     Items for sale will include used clothing, flea market items, hand
crafted articles, Christmas items, antiques, jewelry, homemade gifts and
baked goods.

Alzheimer's meeting
     The Delaware chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will sponsor its
sixth annual caregivers conference Saturday, Nov. 6, in Clayton Hall.
     "Alzheimer's Disease: A Different Perspective" focuses on the disease
process, behavior changes and the medical, physical, psychosocial and
environmental needs of individuals suffering from dementia. There will be
information available for anyone directly or indirectly caring for an
Alzheimer's patient. Six continuing education units will be awarded for
professional caregivers.

Grant writing help
     The staff of the Delaware Humanities Forum will hold grant writing
workshops during November. Non-profit groups are urged to send one of more
representatives to learn how to apply to the Delaware Humanities Forum for
funding.
     Free programs, that are open to the public, are scheduled in Seaford
and in Newark on Nov. 11 and in Lewes on Nov. 12.
