New certificate program for quality-oriented management
The University of Delaware is now offering a new certificate program
designed for managers responsible for quality issues at both an analytical
and human level.
Managers who have responsibilities for increasing production, reducing
costs and improving all levels of quality may enroll in the short courses
and seminars that comprise this new program. Offered by the University's
College of Business and Economics and Division of Continuing Education, the
Total Quality Management Certificate Program is designed to address all
issues of quality. Participants can customize the information for
individual job situations and organizational settings.
Through a combination of semester-long coursework, short courses and
seminars-each surveying various tools and techniques- participants learn
the skills necessary to implement the quality process.
Two levels of certification, basic and advanced, can be completed
successively. Participants choose a concentration in either the statistical
or the "people" side of quality by the advanced certification stage.
Topics in the program are relevant for those in manufacturing,
banking, marketing and the service industry. Managers and those who aspire
to management positions, working in either a large or small corporation,
will benefit from the certificate.
Individuals may enroll in the entire program or enroll in individual
courses. For a complete listing of seminars and topics, call the
University's Division of Continuing Education, at 831-1080.
