Holiday craft sale
The University Women's Club will sponsor its annual holiday
handicraft sale from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18; from 10 a.m.-9
p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19; and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, in
the gallery of the Perkins Student Center.
Exhibitors are needed for the sale, and participation is open to
everyone. For more information or to become an exhibitor, call Mary

Student art show
The undergraduate art club, Kuntswollen, will present its annual
art show at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, in Taylor Gymnasium, located
behind Old College. The show will feature work of active undergraduate
artists at the University.
All work submitted by Nov. 7 to Jeff Prybolsky or Ben Gross will
be used in the show. Prybolsky and Gross may be contacted through the
Department of Art at 831-2244. The exhibit is free and open to the
public.
Conference discount
University users of conference services at the Goodstay,
Wilcastle and Virden Centers or Clayton or Arsht Halls will receive a
10 percent discount from the grand total of the conference bill.
The Blue Hen conference discount may be used on any University
event providing that no fee is being charged to participants and all
charges are paid by journal voucher to a University account.

Ice skating treat
The University Ice Arena will sponsor public skating from 8
p.m.-midnight, Saturday, Oct. 31. The cost is $7 to the general public
and $4 for University students. Skate rental is $2 per person.
Book fair
The College School and the Education Resource Center will
co-sponsor a book fair Nov. 4-7 in 012 Willard Hall Education
Building. The hours are: 2-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4; 8:30
a.m.-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6;
and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7. Thousands of children's books
will be sold at a 5 percent discount.
Halloween candy-gram
The residents of the Hebrew House are selling Halloween
candy-grams. The cost is $1 each, or six for $5. They come in rose,
pumpkin, witch, ghost or pumpkin/witch combo shapes. To order the
candy, call the Hebrew House at 837-6431.
Campus craft shows
The University's Division of Continuing Education will host its
16th annual holiday craft show at two locations and during two
weekends in November.
The first show will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and
Sunday, Nov. 14-15, in Arsht Hall, located at 2700 Pennsylvania Ave.
Two weeks later, a show will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 28-29,
in Clayton Hall. Admission is $1, or free with a University I.D.

Furniture for sale
Housing and Residence Life is selling approximately 200 pieces of
furniture in good condition from 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the
Housing Warehouse, located next to the Grounds Department, behind and
over the railroad tracks from the Deer Park Tavern. The parking lot
may be entered from either Cleveland or North College avenue.
Some of the items to be sold include:
* 43 desks (three-drawer w/bookshelf and light, oak), $25 each;
* 9 desks (as above but laminate), $15 each;
* 27 desks (maple), $10 each;
* 8 desk chairs (wood), $10 each;
* 25 desk chairs (molded plastic), $5 each; and
* 60 wardrobes, tan, metal and divided with shelves, $20 each.
Miscellaneous chairs, tables and dressers will also be for sale.
Other surplus items may be added.
The terms of the sale are cash and carry, and first-come,
first-served with same day removal.

Volunteers needed
Want to put a lift in your life? Give a senior a lift! Volunteers
of all ages are needed to drive senior citizens who have no other
means of transportation, to their medical appointments. The usual time
commitment is two hours a month.

Science Alliance
The Science Alliance is a coalition of business, industry and
education working together to enhance pre-college science, math and
technology education. A number of University faculty and staff members
have been involved as volunteers.
The program is currently recruiting volunteers for several
programs from elementary school through high school.
