Volleyball tourney to use Carpenter Center courts
We want to christen the new Bob Carpenter Center with a victory
and set the standard for future teams," said coach Barbara Viera,
professor of physical education, whose Blue Hen women volleyball team
will be the first on the courts of the new facility on Friday, Oct. 16
and Saturday, Oct. 17.
The event is the 18th annual University of Delaware Invitational,
with five colleges vying for first place in the tournament. In
addition to the Blue Hens, Fairleigh Dickinson, Princeton
Universities, Rider College, and the University of New Haven will
participate.
University students will be admitted free to the tournament. The
admission cost for adults to each day's play is $5 and $3 for
non-University students. High school students with a paying parent and
a coupon from their school will be admitted free.
