Mattea's career began with her debut album, Kathy Mattea, which
demonstrated her uncommon power and range. This was followed by her
1985 successful interpretation on Nanci Griffith's "Love At The Five
and Dime," which became one of four Top 10 hits, including "You're the
Power," "Train of Memories" and the title song from Walk The Way The
Wind Blows.
Mattea's success continued with the 1987 release of Untasted
Honey.
In 1989, her album Willow In The Wind contained three memorable
number-one hits: "Come From The Heart," "Burnin' Old Memories" and
"She Came From Fort Worth."
The West Virginian's string of success prompted the production of
Kathy Mattea: A Collection of Hits in 1990. The album is now gold.
Hal Ketchum, Mattea's guest star, established himself as one of
country's rising stars in 1991 with the excellent response to his
debut album, Past The Point of Rescue.
His latest album is Sure Love.
