Director of facilities planning, construction appointed Sept. 1
                                                               
     Antonio R. Janairo, assistant director of physical plant at     
Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., for the past six years, is  
the new director of facilities planning and construction at at       
Delaware, David Hollowell, senior vice president has announced.      
     Janairo's appointment, which was effective Sept. 1, followed a  
regional search that attracted more than 200 applications.           
     The director of facilities planning and construction is         
responsible for architectural and engineering services and all       
construction projects, except for repairs, maintenance and minor     
construction.                                                        
     At Williams College, Janairo was project manager for major      
facility construction.  Previously, he had a number of assignments in
the U.S. Army, including supervision of a staff of engineers and     
technicians responsible for administering federal construction       
contracts at West Point and five other military installations        
throughout a three-state area.                                       
     Janairo has a B.S. degree from the U.S. Military Academy and a     
master's in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.             
     The search committee, chaired by Tom Vacha, director of plant   
operations, included Norma L. Gaines, assistant dean of the College of        
Human Resources; Timothy R. Becker, assistant director of housing and
residence life; Jon Olson, professor of chemical engineering; and    
Barbara J. Sharkey, assistant treasurer for disbursing and purchasing.
