The Kappa Delta Rho fraternity raised about $300 in a hurricane
relief fund drive Sept. 15 -17. Todd Rossin, a sophomore political
science major from Beverly Hills, is the fraternity's philanthropy
chairperson and served as coordinator of the fund drive.
Several Kappa Delta Rho members saw the devastation in Florida on
television. One of Rossin's friends, who attends the University of
Miami, was forced to return home because of water damage. Kappa Delta
Rho decided to become involved and contribute to the aid for hurricane
victims.
The fraternity set up tables in the Perkins Student Center, where
students were encouraged to make cash donations. The proceeds will be
sent to the American Red Cross.
"The fraternity decided that it is really important to give back
to the University and to give back to the community," Rossin said.
Donations may still be sent to the Philanthropy Chair of the
Inter Fraternity Council or directly to the American Red Cross, at
656-6670.
