Southern academy on Lewes campus
The Southern Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning (SDALL) has moved
to the Virden Center on the University of Delaware's campus in Lewes.
At this centralized location, members will be able to access the Lewes
Library and continue to take the distinctive courses offered through the
academy.
For the fall semester, SDALL is offering 30 classes, including a
course on Shakespeare taught by Edith Mroz, one of the academy's most
popular English instructors. Students will study Hamlet, Much Ado About
Nothing and Twelfth Night.
In the past, Mroz, who recently retired from Delaware State
University, has taught plays by George Bernard Shaw, poetry by Robert
Frost, and a course on Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita.
Her versatility extends beyond the written word to music and dancing
as well. She plays recorder with the Dover Early Music Consort and
participates in English country dancing and line dancing.
The Southern Delaware Academy of Lifelong Learning, sponsored by the
University of Delaware, is a continuing education program for men and women
50 years of age or older.
Fall catalogs are available now, and registration begins later this
month.
