United Way Planning Committee prepares for autumn campaign
The University's United Way Planning Committee is meeting this summer
to discuss ideas for the annual fall campaign's video and theme. Earlier
this month, President David P. Roselle and Maxine Colm, vice president for
employee relations, met with members of the committee and set the 1993
University United Way Goal at $140,000.
The campaign, which has been set to kick off Oct. 13, will revolve
around the theme, "We Are Family."
University employees who volunteer their services or who have
benefited from any of the 61 United Way agencies are encouraged to contact
Joyce Dennis at 831-2171 if they wish to participate in the campaign video,
which will be available to the campus in early September.
The video will feature members of the University family, and music
will be provided by the Elderly Brothers, Jerry Beasley and Tom Calhoun,
both faculty members of the Department of English.
Members of this year's planning committee include Emma Amuti,
development; Judy Hahn, nursing; Barbara Kreppel, Office of the Senior Vice
President; Mary Hempel, public relations; Gregory Johnson, continuing
education; Charles Marsh, media services; Ann Mattair, personnel records;
Joanne Norris, education; Richard Tarpley, marine studies; Cynthia Timko,
agricultural sciences; and John Stapleford, business and economics.
Campaign co-chairs are Joyce Dennis, Employee Services, and Deborah
Dintenfass, Benefits Services.
The next planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29.
