4.0 seniors

     Three graduating seniors were recognized at Commencement for achieving
a 4.0 cumulative grade index, upon completion of seven consecutive
semesters at the University.
     Congratulated at the ceremony by Delaware Gov. Thomas R. Carper were
(from left)  Matthew G. Yancisin, Quyen L. Nguyen and Amy E. Tietz.
     Yancisin, son of Gerald and Christine Yancisin of Camp Hill, Pa.,
received a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He is a member of
several honorary societies and was a member of the Panel of Distinguished
Seniors. He will be working with the Arthur Andersen Co. in the fall.
     Nguyen received a bachelor of science degree with distinction in a
double major of computer science and mathematics of computation. He is an
Engineering and Science Scholar and a member of the honor society Phi Kappa
Phi. His American sponsors are Paul and Diane Terranova of Newark. He will
be entering the graduate computer science program at the University of
California at Berkeley in the fall.
     Tietz, daughter of Raymond and Nancy Tietz of Wilmington, received a
bachelor of arts degree in biology, with a minor in applied music. She is a
member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi and the recipient of the AAUW
Award. After a year of working at Johns Hopkins University, she plans to
attend medical school.
