Bartol prof receives Humboldt prize

     Paul A. Evenson of the Bartol Research Institute has been named
recipient of a Senior Scientist Award from the Alexander von Humboldt
Foundation, in recognition of his achievements in research. The Humboldt
Foundation grants up to 200 Humboldt Research Awards per year to eminent
foreign scientists.
     Evenson, who will reside in Kiel, in the Federal Republic of Germany,
for one year beginning in July, will work on a model of the propagation of
cosmic rays from solar flares through the dynamically evolving,
interplanetary magnetic field.
