Honorary nominations
     The University Faculty Senate Advisory Committee on Honorary Degrees
requests nominations from the University community for consideration by the
Board of Trustees' Committee on Honorary Degrees.
     Written nominations, accompanied by supporting materials, should be
submitted by May 14, to Joan Odell, assistant to the University secretary,
132 Hullihen Hall.

Delaware dancers
     The Delaware Repertory Dance Company will give a performance entitled,
"Dance '93/Celebration of Dance: Expressions of Life," at 7:30 p.m.,
Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, in Newark Hall. Admission is $3 for
students and $4 for adults.

57th Memorial Day
     The 57th annual Memorial Day ceremonies and parade will be held
Sunday, May 16, on the Mall, in front of Memorial Hall. The ceremony, which
will include military bands and other marching units, will begin at 1 p.m.,
to be followed by the parade down Main Street at 2 p.m.

Residence hall closings
     All students must move out from the residence halls by 10 p.m.,
Friday, May 28, with the exception of those students who are scheduled for
a final examination during the evening of May 28 and who have registered
with their hall directors/assistant area coordinators.
     Graduating seniors who reside on campus must leave their rooms no
later than 5 p.m., Saturday, May 29.
     Faculty members conducting the last final exams should refer questions
pertaining to residence hall closings to hall directors/assistant area
coordinators.

Softball tourney
     The Douglas F. Carpentier Memorial Softball Tournament will be held at
4 p.m. Friday, May 7, and 10 a.m., Saturday, May 8, at Frazer Field, behind
Carpenter Sports Building.
     The two-day tournament for coed and men's teams will be held in honor
of Mr. Carpentier, a 1991 University senior who was an avid participant in
the intramural softball program.
     Proceeds will go to the Douglas F. Carpentier Memorial Fund.
     Raindate is May 14-15. Registration, through May 5, is $60 per team.

Staff ocean cruise
     University staff and friends have booked a cruise aboard the Norwegian
Cruise Line's new ship, M.V. Dreamward, sailing from New York to Bermuda
Sept. 25. For the seven-day cruise and bus transportation to and from New
York, the price is $848 per person plus $102 port charge (half of the
brochure rate). All cabins are outside and include a sitting area.

House exchange
     A British University professor from Greenwich (southeast London), now
teaching on exchange in Sacramento, seeks a house and car for the month of
August along the northeastern seaboard.
     In exchange, he is offering his house in Greenwich, England, which
sleeps six, as well as a car.
