Extension receives grant for elderly

     Cooperative Extension has joined with Delaware's Division of Aging and
the Meals on Wheels program to carry out a Senior Series grant project.
     The Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development has awarded $5,000
for the plan that will teach food safety for senior citizens to volunteers
and recipients of Meals on Wheels, a hot-meal delivery service for seniors.
     The grant will be used to develop three newsletters that will include
safe food handling, recipes, personal safety tips, food buying tips and
inspirational thoughts.
     The newsletters will become part of a national newsletter, Senior
Series published by the Center on Rural Elderly located at the University
of Missouri.
