On the job
I'm a cashier in the Round House in Graham Hall. I've been working
here full-time since April 1991, but I started here in August 1990 as a
part-timer.
"This area has grown a lot since I've been here. It started out as
just a cart with two refrigerators and a hot dog machine. We were lucky to
do $100 a day. Then, all of a sudden, business just took off and now we
have a full-service counter.
"I like the increase in business. It makes the day go faster. You get
to see a lot of people each day and that makes it fun. The kids are just
great. The people I work with and the people I meet, they're all good
people.
"One thing I like about this job is that I'm on campus, so I get to
see my daughter, who is a freshman here. Even though she lives at home, I
think I see her more here than at home! It's nice.
"I really enjoy my job. If I can say one thing: Tell the kids to keep
coming."
