service award for contributions to the science of plant pathology at
50th anniversary meeting of American Phytopathological Society,
Potomac Division, March 25.
Dewey M. Caron, entomology and applied ecology, elected president,
Entomological Society, Eastern branch, for 1994-95.
"Distance Education for RN Students," a program developed by Madeline
Lambrecht and Betty J. Paulanka, nusing, was a runner-up in the
post-secondary category of the Superstars! in Education competition,
sponsored by the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce.
Four employees of the College of Agricultural Sciences were recognized
by their peers at the college's annual conference March 23: Lesa
Sterling, animal science and agricultural biochemistry, received an
outstanding teaching award; Kenneth Lomax, agricultural engineering,
received the outstanding academic advisement award; Teclemariam
Weldekidan, plant and soil sciences, received the superior performance
award for research professionals; and Sandra Cloud, animal science and
agricultural biochemistry, received the William J. Benton Award for
outstanding graduate student research.
