Recognizing medical technology

Del. Gov. Thomas R. Carper, Delaware '75M, signs a proclamation
recognizing National Medical Technology Week, being celebrated from April
11-17. This year's theme, "Your Laboratory: Where the Investigation
Begins," points to the critical role the clinical laboratory plays in
patient care. Attending the ceremony (from left) are Edith Podsiad, a
University senior medical technology major from Wilmington, Del.; Heather
Lotrich, Delaware '90, a medical technologist at the A.I. du Pont
Institute; and Sally Jenkins, a medical technologist at the Christiana
Hospital of the Medical Center of Delaware.
The University's Medical Technology Program held an open house in
McKinly Laboratory April 13 to make the campus community more aware of the
medical technology major and the career opportunities available in the
profession.
