Host families needed
     Glasgow High School needs families to host student leaders from around
the country, June 26-30. Glasgow High School is hosting the National
Association of Student Council's convention, with over 1,300 students
participating.
     Host families need to live within 20 miles of the school, provide
comfortable sleeping quarters, dinner the first evening and a light
breakfast each day. Transportation will be provided by the district after
the first day.

University pool
     The University outdoor swimming pool is accepting applications for the
1993 season. Families and individuals from the general community as well as
University community are encouraged to apply. The rates are as follows:
community family, $155; community individual, $80; University family, $135;
University individual, $70.

Master food educators
     The New Castle County Cooperative Extension is starting a new
volunteer program, entitled Master Food Educators.
     Volunteers will be given 30 hours of training in the areas of foods,
diet, health, food safety, selection and preparation. In return, volunteers
will be asked to give back 40 hours of time by offering workshops,
responding to telephone calls, writing educational material or
participating in public programs sponsored by Cooperative Extension.
Volunteers can choose how to give back time.
     The free training will be offered to the public from 9 a.m.-noon,
Tuesday and Thursday mornings, April 27-May 20, at the County Extension
office in 032 Townsend Hall.

Annual Ag Day
     Students in the College of Agricultural Sciences will present Ag Day,
from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, April 24, rain or shine, on the grounds
surrounding Townsend Hall. Included in the day's numerous events will be a
petting zoo, plant sale, sheep and dairy show and educational exhibits. The
event is free and open to the public.

Student art show
     The work of student artist Christy Tapert will be featured at a
reception from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 7, at Objects of Desire in the
Newark Mini-Mall. Handmade silver jewelry and table pieces, entitled
"Cycles," may be viewed at the store from May 7-14.

Prayer breakfast
     Warriors for Christ, along with several other campus and community
ministries, will sponsor a Campus Prayer Breakfast from 9-11 a.m.,
Saturday, April 24, in Clayton Hall.
     Guest speaker will be Babatunde A. Ogunnaike, research engineer with
the DuPont Co. and adjunct professor in the Department of Chemical
Engineering at the University. Special music will be performed by the
University Gospel Choir.
     Cost of the breakfast is $7, and reservations must be made by Friday,

ROTC annual MIA run
     The University's Army ROTC military honor society, the Scabbard and
Blade, will hold its third annual POW/MIA Run from 5 p.m., Thursday, April
29, until 5 p.m., Friday, April 30.
     The event will consist of two runners carrying flags and running a
one-and-one-half mile course around campus, beginning and ending at
Memorial Hall.
     Donations will be accepted on a per lap basis (100 laps are expected)
or by a simple donation. Checks made payable to Scabbard and Blade--should
be sent to: Scabbard and Blade, 201 Mechanical Hall, University of
Delaware, Newark, DE 19716-2556.

Student recruitment
     Career planning and placement is recruiting students to fill positions
as student assistants for the 1993-94 academic year. The following
qualifications are necessary to apply: sophomore or junior with a minimum
GPA of 2.5, must enjoy working with individuals or groups, must have an
interest in helping others in a people-oriented environment and must be
able to work 10 hours per week.
