April staff luncheon
The University Staff Association's April luncheon will be held from
noon-1 p.m., Thursday, April 15, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student
Center. Two staff members will receive complete makeovers.
Cost is $6.50 with lunch or $1 to brown bag. Respond to Cyndi Timko,

Prayer breakfast
Several campus and community ministries will sponsor a Campus Prayer
Breakfast from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, in Clayton Hall.
"The University community-students, faculty, administration and
staff-is invited to a morning of spiritual uplift and inspiration as we
unite in specific prayer for national and local leadership," Joyce Dennis,
student adviser for Warriors for Christ, said.
Guest speaker will be Babatunde A. Ogunnaike, research engineer with
the DuPont Co. and adjunct professor in the Department of Chemical
Engineering at the University. Special music will be performed by the
Gospel Choir at the University.
Cost of the breakfast is $7, and reservations must be made by Friday,

Sponsors of the breakfast include Warriors for Christ, Baptist Campus
Ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ International, Christians in Action,
Christian Leadership Ministry, Word of Life Campus Ministry and the
Episcopal Campus Ministry.
Hospitality sought
Four undergraduate students from the University of London, who will be
serving research apprenticeships on campus this summer, need host families
for two weeks.
The students will live in a residence hall until Aug. 13. Host housing
is needed from Aug. 13-28.
The students may need transportation to and from campus.
The cooperating host family will receive $100 for food. For

Merit award reception
The reception honoring this year's professional and salaried staff
merit award recipients, originally scheduled for April 6, will be held from
4-5:30 p.m., Friday, May 7, in Clayton Hall. The original date conflicted
with the first day of Passover.
The names of the recipients will be published in the May 13 issue of
UpDate. Merit awards will be distributed with the April 15 pay check.
Staff artists' exhibit
A faculty and staff art exhibition will be held from 11:30 a.m.-2
p.m., Monday-Friday, April 19-23, in the University Gallery of the Perkins
Student Center. This is an independent, non-juried show designed for
faculty and staff who have not exhibited professionally.
Apple colors in class
To see how some of the latest computer tools work, attend an Apple
seminar from 10 a.m.-noon, Friday, April 16, in 011 Smith Hall.

Proper immunizations
Students expecting to travel abroad should contact the Student Health
Center at least six weeks prior to departure to insure proper
immunizations. Call 831-2226 for an appointment.
Women's conference
Cecil County Community College will sponsor a women's conference from
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, May 8, at its North East, Md. campus. The
conference will provide an opportunity to increase awareness of important
issues and to learn new coping strategies.
