Blood donations
Employees who are members of the Blood Bank of Delaware will now find
it easier and more convenient to donate blood. Through a new agreement,
faculty and staff can now donate at the Perkins Student Center during the
monthly student blood drive. Previously, members donated at the Blood Bank
of Delaware's headquarters near Stanton.
Under the new arrangement, the first 10 minutes of every hour during
the monthly student blood drive will be reserved for University employees.
In addition, the Blood Bank's donor scheduling department will inform
University employees of upcoming donation dates on campus.
Student blood drives are scheduled from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., April 13-14
and May 5-6, in the Perkins Student Center. Employees interested in
reserving a specific donation time on any of these dates should contact the
Blood Bank's scheduling department at 737-8405.

fair for minority, women-owned and small businesses from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.,
Thursday, April 22 at the Holiday Inn in Wilmington. At the fair, the
University's purchasing department will give tips on procurement policies
and procedures, collect vendor cards and information and hand out
information. For more information, call 831-8291.
Desktop recycling
Blue desktop recycling folders for high-quality paper have been
distributed to nearly three dozen buildings across campus. According to
Roger Bowman, coordinator of the campus recycling effort, there has been a
small problem associated with the folders. Some staff members have been
throwing the folders, as well as their contents, into the blue recycling
containers.
These folders are to be filled with the appropriate high-quality
paper, which should be taken to a nearby receptacle for recycling. The
folder then can be returned to the desk to be reused, not thrown away.
