CTE announces three summer improvement grants
The Center for Teaching Effectiveness is awarding three Summer
Improvement of Instruction Grants for 1993, chosen from 12 proposals
submitted.
Awardees are:
* Deborah E. Allen, assistant professor of life and health sciences,
who will adapt problem-based learning (PBL) strategies to courses
in introductory biology (B207/208);
* Susan E. Groh, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry,
who will develop a problem-based approach to teaching inorganic
chemistry; and
* David Onn, professor of physics, who will expand the use of active
and problem-based learning strategies in non-major General
Physics (PS201/PS202).
Additional funding for the 1993 Summer Improvement of Instruction
Grants was provided by the Honors Program and the Office of the Dean of
Arts and Science.
