College Republicans
The College Republicans will host a speech by Brad Zuber, director of
the Clinton Watch of Delaware. The talk will be part of the group's regular
meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, March 15, in 005 Kirkbride Hall.
The Clinton Watch of Delaware is a non-partisan watchdog group. This
event is open to all members of the University community.
E.A. Trabant Award
The E. A. Trabant Award is given annually to the individual,
department, administrative unit or committee that has contributed to equity
for women at the University. The Commission on the Status of Women defines
contributions broadly, to encourage as wide a range of nominations as
possible, but examples might include developing exemplary programs or
curricula, implementing innovative policies and procedures related to
women's equity and enhancing existing services to women.
Nominations will be accepted from any member of the University
community. Self-nominations must be accompanied by at least one supporting
letter from outside the unit. Deadline for nominations is March 26.

Portable computing
Computing and Network User Services will sponsor a seminar presented
by Apple Computer, "Portable Productivity for Faculty" from 10 a.m.-noon,
Friday, March 19, in 011 Smith Hall.
The Macintosh PowerBook and PowerBook Duo computers, to be featured at
this seminar, offer the power of desktop computing with the flexibility of
working anywhere, anytime. To register, send electronic mail to

University enrollment
Official enrollment figures for 1993 spring semester include: 13,806
undergraduates; 572 parallel students; 2,792 graduate students; and 2,834
continuing education students, for a total enrollment of 20,004. This
figure exceeds the spring enrollment for each of the past eight years. Last
year's spring semester total was 19,411.
IRS regulations
As of Jan. 1, all teachers, students and trainees under F, J or M
visas are required to file an information statement with the IRS,
regardless of whether the individual received income, and must file a Form
1040 or 1040NR.

Services, 4 Kent Way.
Hispanic celebration
The Hola Group, an organization of Hispanic students at the
University, is celebrating Ibero America Week with two special events.
The first is a showing of La Ciudad Y Los Perros (The City and the
Dogs), a film based on the book by Mario Vargas Llosa, at 8 p.m., Tuesday,
March 16 in Room 204 Kirkbride Hall. The film is in Spanish with English
subtitles. Admission is free to Hola Group members and is 50 cents for
non-members.
The second event will be a talk by Pablo Rodriguez, second secretary
of the Cuban Interest Section in Washington, D. C. on "The Reality of Cuban
Life Today" at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 18 in Room 206 Kirkbride Hall. The
event is free and open to the public.
Diversity workshops
The Diversity Education Task Force of the Commission to Promote Racial
and Cultural Diversity will sponsor two one-day workshops to show how to
identify misinformation about ourselves and others, how to heal emotional
wounds resulting from mistreatment and how to reclaim the power to
challenge all forms of discrimination.
Sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, March 19, in the
Kirkwood Room, and Friday, April 30, in the Collins Room, both in the
Perkins Student Center.
The workshops are free and open to all members of the University
community. Pre-registration is required.
