Mobile computing
     Computing and Network User Services will sponsor a seminar presented
by Apple Computer, "Portable Productivity for Faculty" from 10 a.m.-noon,
Friday, March 19, in 011 Smith Hall.
     The Macintosh PowerBook and PowerBook Duo computers, to be featured at
this seminar, offer the power of desktop computing with the flexibility of
working anywhere, anytime.

Alumni scholars
     Eligible students are urged to apply for the Milton L. Draper,
Delaware '22, Student-Alumni Relations Scholarship and the University
Alumni Association scholarships.
     To qualify for the $1,000 Draper scholarship in the upcoming academic
year, nominees must be full-time juniors or seniors in fall 1993 with at
least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA). They also should exhibit outstanding
efforts to foster student-alumni interaction and exemplify leadership,
dedication and enthusiasm for the University.
     The Alumni Association will award two $1,000 scholarships to
upperclass students, one male and one female majoring in any field, who
exhibit promise in their major. In addition, applicants must be children of
University alumni, possess a minimum GPA of 3.0, have at least 30 credit
hours by the beginning of the next academic year and demonstrate financial
need. Applicants must submit letters of recommendation from two faculty
members, an unofficial transcript (obtained from the Student Services
Building) and the completed application form.
     The application deadline for both scholarships is Monday, March 15.
Applications are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., weekdays, at the
Office of Alumni Relations in Alumni Hall on East Main St.

Weight management
     The Nutrition Clinic's Weight Management Program, conducted by a
registered dietician, is now available in a shortened format. Learn the
safe and effective way to control weight through diet, exercise and
behavior mofication.
     Classes will meet from 12:10-12:50 p.m., Mondays, beginning March 8,
in Room 121 Allison Hall.
     The cost for this five-week program is $35. Checks, which are due by
March 8, should be made payable to the University of Delaware and mailed
directly to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Room 238, Alison

Research on women
     Proposals are now being accepted for the Student Research on Women
Conference, which is open to all students conducting research on women or
gender-related issues. Entries may be in the form of critical essays based
on library research, as well as reports of findings in social science
research. Group-authored projects are acceptable.
     A President's Award of $150 will be given in each division, graduate
and undergraduate, to the most outstanding paper.
     Proposals are due Monday, March 8, and papers are due Monday, April
15. Entry rules are available from the women's studies office, 333 Smith
Hall, and the Office of Women's Affairs, 303 Hullihen Hall. For more

Ag college tour
     The College of Agricultural Sciences will sponsor an open house for
prospective students and their families, Wednesday, March 24, in Townsend
Hall beginning at 8 a.m.
     Featured will be an introduction to the college, tours of its six
departments, a campus tour and the opportunity to attend afternoon classes.
     Registration is requested by Monday, March 15. To receive a

     The staff of International Programs and Special Sessions invites
