Language program
The International Programs Center, in collaboration with the
Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, will continue to sponsor
the Faculty Language Program during the spring semester.
The classes provide an opportunity to begin or advance fluency in a
foreign language.
The non-credit classes are free and open to University faculty,
professionals, staff and their spouses. Classes started this week and
continue through the week of May 20.

Computer fair
The days of the traveling peddler have taken a new spin into the
computer generation. The open-market approach for pc's and pc-compatibles
is traveling around the country via one- day fairs-one of which is coming
to the Bob Carpenter Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27.
Shows, Inc. which promotes successful shows between Virginia and
Massachusetts, is sponsoring this PC Fest Computer Show, with 200 vendor
spaces.
All sorts of computer goods can be purchased at this show at
rock-bottom prices-software, hardware, peripherals and supplies.
Collins, Carter awards
Nominations are now being sought for the Bessie B. Collins and Mae
Carter awards for returning adult women, sponsored by the Office of Women's
Affairs and the Commission on the Status of Women.
The Collins award of $200 is given annually to a woman student who is
over 25 years old, a matriculated junior, has a minimum G.P.A of 3.0,
demonstrates future promise, and has contributed to the University and
overcome special difficulties.
The Carter award of $250 is given to a returning adult graduate or
undergraduate woman with a minimum G.P.A of 3.0 who has provided service to
women on campus and has shown commitment to scholarship.
Deadline for nominations for both awards is March 12. For more

Awards for seniors
Nominations for the annual Emalea Pusey Warner and Alexander J. Taylor
Sr. awards to the outstanding senior woman and man are due by March 1.
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must have a cumulative
index of 3.0 or better at the end of the first semester of their senior
year and must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, citizenship
and character.
Each award consists of a $500 U.S. Savings Bond, presented on Honors
Day. The recipients will be invited to lead the procession of alumni
delegates at Commencement May 29.

received by 5 p.m., Monday, March 1.
Hockey game benefit
Big Brothers/Big Sisters will hold its second annual charity hockey
game, featuring the Info Systems Nighthawks against the Philadelphia Flyers
alumni from 4:30-8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at the University Blue Ice
Arena.
A half-time show will feature Delaware's World Class Figure Skaters
and the Mites on Ice, a hockey club composed of 6-9-year-old players.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $7 in advance, and may
be purchased by calling Big Brothers/Big Sisters at 998-3577 or Info
Systems at 633-9800. Tickets also can be purchased at the door for $9.
Afternoon of drama
An afternoon of drama, sponsored by the Academy of Lifelong Learning,
will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday March 7, in Arsht Hall at the Wilmington
campus, 2700 Pennsylvania Ave. Three one-act plays will be performed by
members of E-52 Student Theatre.
Admission is $8, and advance reservations are required by March 1. To
