Ice skaters receive special send-off to worlds

     University of Delaware ice skaters bound for the upcoming world
competition in Prague will be featured in a send-off program on Sunday,
Feb. 21.
     Highlighting the show, to begin at 4 p.m. in the Blue Ice Arena, will
be a performance by U.S. national pairs champions Calla Urbanski and Rocky
Marval. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children.
     The event is being sponsored by the University's Ice Skating Science
Development Center. For more information, call 831-2788.

Nationals results
     Many members of the University of Delaware Skating Club participated
at the national championships held Jan. 16-24 in Phoenix.
     Following are their placements in that competition:

Pairs
     Calla Urbanski and Rocky Marval, 1st place;
     Karen Courtland and Todd Reynolds, 3rd place;
     Joel McKeever and Katie Wood, 4th place;
     Aimee Offner and Brad Cox, 9th place;
     Brian Helgenberg and Tristan Collel, 15th place.

Junior Pairs
     Jeff Tilley and Robin Heckler, 2nd place;
     Keith Tindall and Nicole Bateson-Rock, 8th place;
     Andrea Catoia and Jason Corley, 12th place.

Novice Pairs
     Paul Binnebose and Sara Ward, 1st place;
     Courtney Riffe and Jim Peterson, 4th place.

Dance
     Sean Gales and Cheryl Demkowski, 10th place;
     Robert Peal and Ann Morton Neale, 11th place;
