Senior Housing Connection eases elder care concerns
One of life's most traumatic experiences is having to place a loved
one in a nursing home. As the general population ages, this situation faces
more and more people. As a result, many working families today are caring
for both parents and children.
Senior Housing Connection, a special housing and elder-care referral
service, attempts to make this task easier. The company's constantly
growing data base contains information covering facilities throughout
Delaware, Maryland, nearby Pennsylvania and seven counties in New Jersey.
From this data base Senior Housing Connection can furnish information
regarding the full spectrum of retirement facilities-from independent
living arrangements to nursing homes to adult day-care centers. Senior
Housing Connection also can answer questions about living arrangements,
level of care, costs, insurance, in-house health programs, activities, food
service and other related concerns.
Recently, Senior Housing Connection expanded its services to include
referral information in numerous other areas related to elder care. These
areas include Alzheimer Association, Arthritis Association, Delaware
Association for the Blind, Diabetes Association, Elder Care Locator
(national community resources for elders), Elderlaw, financial managers and
counselors, home health care, homemakers service, home respite care,
Medicare and Medicaid information, Meals on Wheels, nursing services,
National Network of Aging Services, packing/moving/resale of possessions,
rehabilitation facilities, real estate sales (elder specialists) and senior
centers.
University of Delaware employees may receive assistance through the
Senior Housing Connection by calling Alice Svendsen at 366-0782.
Arrangements have been made so that University employees receive
services at a discounted rate of $75, a 20 percent group discount.
