Du Pont scholars in Class of '96
Eleven members of the University's Class of 1996 are recipients
of the Eugene du Pont Memorial Distinguished Scholar Awards, which are
reserved for the most academically accomplished students.
Recipients are
* Ilan D. Avin of Baltimore;
* Sara E. Cassidy of Rockville, Md.;
* April C. Clark of Alcoa, Tenn.;
* Beth A. Doherty of Bridgewater, Mass.;
* Frederick J. Goetz of Wilmington;
* Catherine W. Jones of North Plainfield, N.J.;
* Julie E. Randolph of Perkasie, Pa.;
* Joseph M. Scarborough of Elkton, Md.;
* Graham M. Segroves of Knoxville, Tenn.;
* Michael J. Skinner of Olney, Md.;
* Elizabeth Zimny of Wilmington.
A faculty committee selects approximately 50 of the most
outstanding applicants to the University and invites them to compete
for the awards. Full tuition, fees, room and board, and a stipend for
books renewable for four years of study are awarded to du Pont
Scholars.
