Longwood plant sale                                                  
     The University's Longwood graduate program will conduct a one-day        
sale of unusual and select plants from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept.
12, at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa.                       
     The plant sale will feature perennials, ornamental grasses,     
vines, shrubs and trees often difficult to locate at retail nurseries.        
     Pre-orders are not required, but are suggested. For additional  
information or to place an order, call the Longwood Graduate Program

Language lessons                                                     
     The Office of International Programs and Special Sessions, in   
collaboration with the Department of Foreign Languages and           
Literatures, will sponsor the Faculty Language Program again during  
this fall.                                                           
     The non-credit classes are free and open to University faculty, 
professionals, staff and their spouses. Classes will be offered in   
beginning Japanese, beginning French, intermediate French, advanced  
French, beginning German, beginning Spanish and intermediate Spanish.
     Classes will begin the week of Sept. 14 and will continue through        
the week of Dec. 7. For further information, contact Vivian Coss at

Kardex cabinets                                                      
     New procedures and increased use of on-line technology have     
removed the need for "Kardex" cabinets and cards to check in the     
scores of of periodical issues received in the Morris Library.       
     Therefore, eight Kardex cabinets, each measuring 13" high by 24''        
deep by 8" wide, are available for disposition to other campus units.
     If you are interested in obtaining one or more Kardex cabinets  
for University use, send, by Sept. 30, a request on unit letterhead to        
the Office of the Director of Libraries, expressing interest and the 
number of cabinets desired.                                          
     Within each Kardex cabinet there are 10 drawers for cards which 
are 4" by 6". A sample card can be sent upon request. Costs of       
transporting the cabinets to their new homes must be borne by the    
receiving unit, and cards are available for disposition.

     A guide regarding ethical and legal use of software is available

Gardening classes                                                    
     Cooperative Extension will offer gardening and floral design    
workshops this fall, to be held from 7-9 p.m. in Townsend Hall.      
Walking garden tours of the Clark garden, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to        
noon, are free to anyone registered for a paid class.

Testing, counseling                                                  
     The Psychological Services Training Center in the Department of 
Psychology provides testing and counseling to children, adults and   
families of staff members and those in the surrounding community. Fees        
are based on income.
