Memorial service

     Anne Mooney, recently retired associate professor in the University's
College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy and the Department of Sociology,
died Jan. 21 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, after a long battle
with cancer.
     Dr. Mooney, one of the founders of the University's Women's Studies
Interdisciplinary Program, served as an assistant professor from 1972
through 1979, and as an associate professor from 1979 until she retired in
December 1992.
     A memorial service will be held at noon, Friday, Feb. 19, at the
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 420 Willa Rd., Newark.
     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Women's
Studies Program or to the Anne Mooney Fund, c/o Karen Curtis, Urban Affairs
and Public Policy, to support development of a demography library at Addis
Ababa University in Ethiopia.
