Phone book recycling
The 1993 Diamond State Wilmington telephone books are currently being
delivered to individual departments. Telephone Services is encouraging
members of the University community to recycle old phone books.
Used phone directories should be placed outside office doors for
collection by the custodians or given directly to the custodians who will,
in turn, notify the appropriate office for disposal.
Retired faculty meet
Following is the spring schedule for the U.D. Association of Retired
Faculty (UDARF). Informal lunch/discussion meetings will be held from 11:45
a.m.-1:45 p.m., on the following Tuesdays, in the Read Room of the Perkins
Student Center: Feb. 23, March 16, March 30, April 13 and April 27.
In addition to these meetings, there will be two luncheons, from 11:30
a.m.-2 p.m.: Tuesday, March 9, and Wednesday, May 5, in Clayton Hall.

Instructional grants
The Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE) is offering department or
college grants to small groups of faculty, departments or colleges to
design innovative and imaginative projects that enhance, extend or change
current teaching practice.
Grants may be used for major curriculum revision, retreats, workshops,
TA development, consultants or any project to improve instruction, beyond
that which is normally and properly funded by a department or college.
The deadline for this grant is Friday, Feb. 19. Call CTE at 831-2027,
or drop by the office at 111 Newark Hall to receive an application packet.
Center name change
The International Center has been renamed Foreign Student and Scholar
Services, effective immediately. Please refer inquiries and correspondence
to Susan C. Lee, foreign student and scholar adviser, or Mary E. Politakis,
senior secretary.
Diversity workshops
The Diversity Education Task Force of the Commission to Promote Racial
and Cultural Diversity will sponsor a series of workshops on diversity
issues for the campus community in the Perkins Student Center.
An experimental, half-day session will be offered on Wednesday, Feb.
17, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Collins Room.
Full-day sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesdays, Feb.
10 and 24 in the Collins Room.

CTE workshop
The Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE) will hold a colloquium,
"Working with First Year Students," from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb.
8, in the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center. Light refreshments will
be provided.
