Research services now in central location
All services at the University related to research administration are
now centrally located on the second floor of Hullihen Hall. To find an
agency or foundation to fund research, to submit a proposal, to seek advice
about the administration of a sponsored project or to prepare to close out
a research account the answers all are in one place.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research, which handles pre-award
aspects of the granting process, occupies the suite of offices in 210
Hullihen Hall. It can be contacted by telephone at 831-2136, fax at
831-2828 or by e-mail at costel.denson@ mvs.udel.edu.
The Office of Sponsored Programs Administration, in charge of the
post-award management of externally sponsored contracts and grants, has
moved to the adjacent suite in 206 Hullihen Hall. This office may be
contacted by telephone at 831-8001, fax at 831-3634 or by e-mail at
tom.white@mvs.udel.edu.
The two office staffs provide information in specific areas.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research helps with
* identifying funding sources via computer and print materials,
* contacting funding sources,
* grant applications,
* proposal writing,
* proposal submission to governmental and non-governmental
organizations,
* using human subjects in research,
* reviewing legal agreements and contracts and
* filing patents.
The Office of Sponsored Program Association assists in
* assignment of account codes for contracts and grants,
* billing and collection of funds due from external sponsors,
* grant management, including determining allowability of cost,
* review of equipment requisitions,
* review and approval of consulting agreements, regardless of source
funds,
* Organzational Prior Approval System (OPAS) requests,
* review and approval of journal vouchers and
* close-out of accounts.
