Damie Stillman, John W. Shirley Professor of Art History, was
presented a certificate of appreciation from the American
Architectural Foundation in recognition of service to the
organization. Stillman was a member of the Board of Regents and
chaired the Octagon Committee.
Joann Browning, theatre, appointed to Delaware Division of the Arts
task force on standards and assessment for grades K-12 in the state.
Gerard Mangone, marine studies, under a grant from the Italian
National Council for Research, spent two weeks in December studying
the judicial assessment of damages to marine environment from vessel
pollution at the University of Rome.
Eileen Smitheimer, Professional Theatre Training Program, designed
sound for Hope College's production of The Nutcracker in November
while serving as a visiting professor.
Martha Carothers, art, "Concept & Image: The Book," an exhibition at
Carnegie Mellon University's Hunt Library, Jan. 17-Feb. 28.
Catherine Fitzmaurice, theatre, served as vocal coach for New York
Shakespeare Festival's production of George Buchner's Woyzeck, the La
Jolla Playhouse production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and
the Washington, D.C., Shakespeare Theatre production of Comedy of
Errors.
John C. Cavanaugh, individual and family studies, elected fellow in
