     Vistap M. Karbhari, composite materials, appointed to Panel on
     Advanced Polymer Composites Manufacturing Technologies of the Japanese
     Technology Evaluation Center to help assess the state of the art in

     The panel is sponsored by National Science Foundation, the Department
     of Energy, the U.S. Army and the Air Force Office of Scientific
     Research.

     Robert P. Gilbert, Unidel Professor of Mathematical Sciences, was
     honored by the publication of a two-volumes dedicated to him, Partial
     Differential Equations with Complex Analysis and Partial Differential
     Equations with Real Analysis, edited by H. Begehr of Freie
     Universitat, Berlin, and A. Jeffrey of University of Newcastle upon
     Tyne, England.
 
     Robert R. Jordan, Delaware Geological Survey, has been presented the
     public service award of the American Institute of Professional
     Geologists. Jordan serves on three dozen boards, commissions and
     committees for local, state and federal agencies and national
     scientific and professional organizations. He is chairperson of the
     outer continental shelf policy committee of the U.S. Department of
     Interior and serves on two committees of the National Academy of
     Science.
