Gore scholarship recipients meet with corporate sponsor
The four recipients of the Gore Entrepreneurial Scholarship were
guests at a Dec. 2 luncheon in the Blue and Gold Club.
The annual meeting was held to allow Genevieve Gore, widow of the late
Wilbert L. Gore, to meet with University students who have demonstrated
outstanding academic achievement and leadership.
Wilbert L. Gore, founder of W. L. Gore & Associates of Newark, was
known as an innovator in both the development of new products and in the
establishment of a unique managerial structure within his company.
The Gore scholarship was instituted in 1986-87 to encourage students
to be creative and innovative in the application of new business practices.
The current Gore scholarship recipients are Adam Miller, a freshman
business administration major from Cherry Hill, N.J.; Ryan Cross, a
sophomore business administration major from Seaford; Dan Condrasky, a
junior finance and accounting major from Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and James
Freebery, a senior economics major from Wilmington.
Also present at the luncheon were Betty Gore Snyder; Kenneth
Biederman, dean of the College of Business and Economics; and Linda Dunn,
assistant dean of the college.
