Holiday vacation schedule begins Dec. 24, ends Jan. 1
The University will observe a holiday recess between Dec. 24 and
Jan. 1.

Monday, Dec. 28 Traditional holiday
Tuesday, Dec. 29 President's holiday for 1992
Wednesday, Dec. 30 Additional paid holiday for 1992 only
Thursday, Dec. 31 Additional paid holiday for 1992 only
Friday, Jan. 1 Traditional holiday
Monday, Jan. 4 Offices reopen at 8 a.m.
Salaried staff employees who work on a holiday will be paid for
the hours worked at time-and-one-half, in addition to their regular
pay, or will be given compensatory time off at time-and-a-half. The
dates of compensatory time are to be mutually agreed upon by the
employee and supervisor.
Holiday pay provisions for hourly employees are outlined in their
collective bargaining agreements.
Recognizing the need for certain services to continue during the
recess, the following areas of supporting services will operate on a
limited schedule:
Campus Mail
Dec. 28 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Dec. 29-31 half-days (mornings only)
Receiving/Delivery
Handled through Campus Mail
Offices may pick up mail, before noon Dec. 28-31, at the General
Services Building, telephone 831-2158. Reduced mail services will be
available Jan. 4-8.
Individuals with requests for Plant Operations should call the
service desk at 831-1141.
University buildings will be maintained at a reduced temperature.
Individuals who plan to use offices and laboratories during the
recess should contact Plant Operations to make arrangements for
services.
Public Safety will be open and can be contacted at
831-2222.Offices may have their phones transferred to the University's
main line, 831-2000, which will provide all incoming calls with a
recorded announcement of the holiday recess schedule.
