Appointments, promotions in A&S                        
                                                       
     The College of Arts and Science has announced a number of
promotions and new appointments.                             
     Associate Dean D. Heyward Brock has been promoted to senior
associate dean.                                              
     Assistant Dean Claudia Fischer has been promoted to assistant
dean and director of student services.                       
     Thomas R. Scott, formerly chairperson of psychology, has been
named associate dean for research and graduate studies in arts and
science.                                                     
     Joan DelFattore, professor of English and chairperson of the 
Coordinating Committee for Teacher Education within the college, has
been appointed director of teacher education with responsibility for
secondary teacher education-related matters.                 
     Raymond Callahan, professor of history and director of the Master
of Arts in Liberal Studies program, has been appointed coordinator of
outreach, in charge of developing and delivering educational programs
to the community and the state.
