Conditioning a major factor in U.D. winning tradition
The Football Strength and Conditioning Weight Room in the Bob
Carpenter Center supports a University program that has been a major
contributing factor in the development of Delaware's championship
football tradition.
Holding over 23,000 pounds of free weights, the new facility
contains the most advanced training equipment in the country. All
weight training apparatus is custom-designed to pre-determined
specificiations to meet the demanding needs of the Delaware strength
and conditioning program. In addition, a full line of aerobic
apparatus is available to complement the wide variety of free weight
and machine equipment.
Finally, a complete set of individualized programs is available
and on computer there, as are audio and visual aids to help in the
teaching and education of each athlete.
Delaware's strength and conditioning program for football
players is a long-term regimen that emphasizes progressive gains
during their tenure. Each program is divided into specific phases
during the academic year and summer school to aid in reaching peak
gains at the most desired times. All programs are invididual in design
and are based on the most advanced physiological principles
available.
