Gospel and blues music to fill Newark Hall auditorium Nov. 2

Gospel and blues singers Sister Sadie and the Famous Biblettes
will perform at the University of Delaware at 8 p.m., Saturday,
Nov. 2, in the auditorium of Newark Hall.
The performance is part of the University's Performing Arts
Series.
Sister Sadie and the Famous Biblettes have been singing
together for 12 years. The Biblettes sing praises to God in a
unique soul-stirring style while Sister Sadie adds her own bit of
down-home fire and brimstone.
The group has four albums, including Til He Comes, Blessing Us
All Through These Years, Times and A Good Mother. All of these
releases have been well received by gospel audiences across the
country, and the group has toured extensively across the nation.
In addition to Sister Sadie Holden-Briggs, the Biblettes are
Ruby Williams, Myriene Miller, Diane Wright and Sherrie Griffin.
Sister Sadie also writes and arranges for the group.
Tickets for the Nov. 2 appearance are $15 for the general
public, $10 for University faculty and staff and for senior
citizens, and $5 for students. For more information or to reserve
tickets, call 451-2204.
