Graphics replacement
     The QMS1200 graphics printer, which is used to print mainframe
computer graphics, is being replaced by an HP LaserJet IIISi
printer this fall.
     The HP LaserJet IIISi uses the PostScript language to print
both graphics and text files. The QMS1200 used the QUIC graphics
language. All of the mainframe graphics packages-SAS/GRAPH, DI-3000
and Tell-A-Graf-support the PostScript language.

Writing/fundraising
     The Instructional Technology Center's ITV Studios will host a
national videoconference Thursday, Oct. 17, on "Dispelling Fears
about Grant Writing and Fund Raising in the Arts and Humanities."
     The program will be split into two sessions. The first will
run from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. and the second session from 2 - 3:30
p.m.
     Co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Science, the
Development Office and the Office of Research and Patents, the
conference will be held in Newark Hall's Studio B on the third
floor.

Fall enrollment
     Official University enrollment for the 1991-92 fall semester
totals 20,868 students, including14,655 undergraduates on the
Newark campus, 593 undergraduates in the Parallel Program, 2,668
graduate students and 2,952 continuing education students.
     The total for fall 1990 was 20,818 students.

Preview success
     The Office of Admissions thanks members of the University
community for their help with the success of Delaware Preview Days.
     Approximately 5,081 visitors (1,945 prospective students) took
advantage of the invitation to visit the campus during the six days
that the program was conducted.

Limited first edition
     A limited number of copies of the first issue of The
Messenger, the new publication for alumni and friends of the
University, are available from the Office of Public Relations.
     To obtain a copy, stop by the office, located at 150 South
College Ave.

Winter session
     The University will offer more than 500 courses during its
five-weekWinter Session, from Jan. 6-Feb. 8. Advance registration
is being held from Oct. 14 -18. For additional information, call
451-2852.

Got your shots?
     All new and returning students are reminded to be sure their
immunizations are current. In particular, attention should be given
to measles, mumps and rubella. Students with incomplete
immunization may not be able to register for the spring semester.
Records must be checked at the Student Health Service. For

Nursery alumni
     The Newark Day Nursery is looking for former students, staff
and board members as it prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
     Anyone with ties to the nursery or who has historic
information or photographs is asked to call 731-4925.

Rap on culture
     The Pan-African Cultural Society will sponsor a rap session at
7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, in the Center for Black Culture.
     The public is invited to discuss the collective African
experience in the Western hemisphere. Topics will include racism,
human rights, self-determination and culture.
