Hens to take on Terriers Saturday
The Fightin' Blue Hens (4-1, 2-1 in Yankee Conference) will
meet the Boston University Terriers (1-4, 0-2 in Yankee Conference)
on the gridiron of Beantown's Nickerson Field,.1 p.m., Saturday.
A Delaware victory against Boston would move Head Coach Tubby
Raymond into a tie for 15th place on the all-time college coaching
victory list.
Raymond enters Saturday's contest with a 26-year coaching mark
of 206-84-2.
After their first loss of the season to the New Hampshire
Wildcats at Homecoming last Saturday, the Blue Hens fell to 16th
place in the weekly NCAA Division 1-AA poll.
The team is ranked fifth in the Lambert poll.
In their last game, on Saturday, Boston (5-6 last season, 4-4
in Yankee Conference play) was steamrolled by Villanova University,
56-6.
Last year, Delaware defeated the Terriers 34-20 in Delaware
Stadium The teams first met in 1965, when the Blue Hens beat Boston
50-7. Saturday's contest is the 15th in the teams' series, which
the Blue Hens lead 10-4, including a current four-game winning
streak.
The game will be broadcast live on WDEL-am (1150), starting
with a pre-game show at 12:30 p.m. Highlights will be shown at 5:30
p.m. on Tuesday and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, on WNS-TV.
