Abraham Lenhoff, associate professor of chemical engineering
(left) and Mark Barteau, professor of chemical engineering and
chemistry and associate director of the Center for Catalytic Science
and Technology, received a Department of Energy's University Research
Instrumentation Program grant for $111,240 for the acquisition of a
scanning tunneling/atomic force microscope. They will use the new
instrument when it arrives to create and image ordered arrays of
catalytic molecules, from enzymes to metal oxide clusters.
