U.D. plan named model program
The University's Affirmative Action Plan has been named a model
program by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP)
and Jack Miles, director of affirmative action and multicultural
programs, has been asked to assist two area banks in working out a
program based on the University's plan.
"I am pleased with the progress that we have made and that the
University has been recognized by OFCCP as an institution that values
and implements diversity in the workplace," said Maxine Colm, vice
president for employee relations.
The University has been cooperating with OFCCP in establishing an
equitable employment policy and program.
"We have been submitting semiannual reports on our progress to
OFCCP. After the last report, the Office of Employee Relations was
informed this was no longer necessary, and that our office would be
required only to give information when it was requested," Colm said.
