Two-year contract between University, AAUP signed

     The two-year contract between the University and the American
Association of University Professors (AAUP) was signed June 30.
     At the signing were (standing from left to right) R. Byron Pipes,
University provost; Robert Carroll, AAUP president and professor of
plant and soil sciences;  David L. Colton, professor of mathematical
sciences;  Maxine Colm, vice president for employee relations;
Alexander Doberenz, dean of the College of Human Resources; Gerald
Turkel, professor of sociology; Costel D. Denson, interim vice provost
for research; James Thornton, associate professor of economics; John
Courtright, chairperson of the Department of Communication; and
(seated, from left ) President David P. Roselle; Virginia Ahrens,
associate professor of textiles, design and consumer economics; David
Hollowell, senior vice president; and Arthur Halprin, professor of
physics and astronomy.
