E-mail offers campus varied service

     Several electronic mail services are available for University
employees and departments on Bulletin Board. Now from the comfort of
your computer keyboard you can find out about news developments,
upcoming events, special announcements, for sale items and available
services. This on-line information system is available to employees,
staff and students for both personal and job-related uses.
     Announcements are entries made by individual departments
advertising events, meetings or special notices. To notify the Office
of Public Relations, which handles the file, a QuickMail message may
be sent to Gail.Ranieri detailing the event. It should include the
date, time, message, who to contact for information and the name of
the person who is submitting the information. Items will be edited.
     Classifieds serves as a clearinghouse where members of the
University community can advertise items for sale and services
avaiable. They must be typed in upper and lower case. Do not
abbreviate words. Entries will stay active in the on-line system for
one month, unless advised that the item has been sold. It is the
individual's responsibility to contact the Office of Public Relations
when they wish to delete the notice. If a person wishes the
advertisement to rerun after the one-moth period of time, it must be
resubmitted through a QuickMail message. Items will be edited.
     Eye-openers is a campus news digest and calendar of events
containing updated news information each Monday morning. Submit
material via QuickMail to Mary.Hempel.
     InsideLine is a new feature installed to the electronic mail
menu. Through this service, University offices can detail their own
surplus equipment or find out about surplus equipment available in
other offices. It may be addressed in Emc2 Overview through Bulletin
Board, subheading: InsideLine.
     InsideLine was created to give University departments the
opportunity to buy/sell office equipment internally.
