Utility companies award four grants
The Electric Power Partners (EPP) program, sponsored by Atlantic
Electric and Delmarva Power & Light, has awarded grants of $12,500
each to four University faculty for research projects related to the
needs of the region's utility companies. The projects for EPP funding
are selected by a committee of University and utility company
representatives.
The researchers and projects for fiscal year 1993 are Murray V.
Johnston, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, "Rapid
Single-particle Mass Spectrometry of Airborne Particulate Matter";
Kent S. Price, associate dean of marine studies and director of the
Sea Grant Marine Advisory Service, "Clams as Indicators of Heavy Metal
Accumulation"; Adarshpal S. Sethi, associate professor, computer and
information sciences, "Application of Network Management to Routing
Problems"; and Anthony S. Wexler, assistant professor of mechanical
engineering, "Rapid Analysis of Air Pollution Aerosol Particles:
Inlet Development."
