John Burris honored for service
Business leader John E. Burris of Milford, a member of the
University's Board of Trustees since 1975, receives the University's
doctor of humane letters degree from board chairman Andrew B.
Kirkpatrick Jr.
The formal presentation occurred during the College of
Agricultural Sciences Convocation, held May 30 on the Newark campus.
Burris was recognized as a "prominent entrepreneur and
agriculturist" and "civic leader motivated by social conscience."
He also was cited as one who "enhanced the educational
environment for outstanding Delawareans seeking careers in
agribusiness through your fundraising efforts on behalf of a
Scholarship Endowment to help students in the College of Agricultural
Sciences."
