Five members of the Blue Hen baseball squad-the North Atlantic
Conference and East Coast Athletic Conference tournament
champions- were selected during major league baseball's amateur draft
in early June.

the Phillies and junior third baseman Brian Wallace was tagged by the
Seattle Mariners.
In the 25th round, Oakland selected junior right fielder Brian
Lesher, and junior pitcher Jason Pierson was picked by the Chicago
White Sox.
In round 32, senior center fielder Tripp Keister was picked by
the New York Mets.
The Blue Hens had 39-14 season, which set a school record for
number of wins in a single year.
The baseball team participated in its 10th overall regional NCAA
