Center earns award

     The new University Visitors Center received "A Better Newark"
award for the month of May from the city of Newark's Conservation
Advisory Commission.
     Selected was based on the landscaping and exterior renovations
made to the structure.
     The commission established the monthly award six years ago to
recognize owners of houses and businesses who improve the appearance
of their properties, thereby enhancing the image of the entire
community.
     Every month, the commission bestows a proclamation signed by the
mayor.
     A photograph of the University of Delaware Visitors Center is on
display this month in the main lobby of City Hall.
